Situation

Tarnbury Labs had eleven people, two paying customers and one spreadsheet that only the founder understood. Investors liked the product and asked for a model they could trust. The founder had three weeks of patience and no finance hire.

Work

Linnea rebuilt the model from the bank statements up, one tab per question an investor asks. She set a monthly close, a thirteen-week cash view and a data room. Twice a week she rehearsed the hard questions with the founder until the answers were short.

Result

The model went to six investors and survived every diligence call. The round closed eleven weeks after the work began, and the company now closes its books in six working days.

The numbers

  • €6.2M Series A closed
  • 11 weeks Model to term sheet
  • 24 months Runway after the round

Linnea turned a spreadsheet into a story investors could follow. We closed our Series A eleven weeks after she started.
